First Macro Pictures

I've been thinking about playing with macro images for a while and just got myself a second-hand lens off eBay to learn with. This is a 1:1 scale image of the face of my watch, the detail is just awesome. This was a hand-held attempt that made it really difficult to get any depth of field but I'm already hooked on the new way of looking at objects and look forward to more playing this weekend.

Wentwood Forest

Wentwood Forest became magical this morning as a heavy snow fall turned it into a beautiful alpine scene. It's a difficult place to access so very few people had disturbed the snow. All I had with me was a compact digital. Fortunately, it was enough to capture the beauty of the moment. Click on the image to see it larger.
