First images

nothing quite like some animal fur to show off the detail a lens can reproduce. This shot has been reduced to 1/4 of its original size and then compressed for web at 60% so a lot of the detail has been removed. The resolution is still very evident though.

Stunned by the quality

After much deliberation, I have started to upgrade my glass stock. Some of the lenses that I have, I've had for decades and even my most faithful Sigma 24-70 2.8 I've had for six years, since going digital. At that time, the resolution from my glass stock was more than adequate for the camera resolution. However, with the latest generation camera bodies, I have notices the flaws in my lenses (or maybe I'm becoming more critical?).

Anyway, this week i took the plunge and stared the upgrade process. Special delivery this morning delivered a Canon24-105 f4 IS lens. First impression? Stunning! All thoughts of work are out of the window and I'm off to shoot some stuff.
